| John Dollin baptised 8 Oct 1826; Born in Dunster, Somerset, England. Son of John Dollin and Mary Ann Gould. Brother of Thomas Dollin. Married Jane Parsons on 25 Dec 1849 in Dunster, Somerset, England. Jane was born in c. 1828 in Carhampton, Somerset. Her father was Benjamin Parsons. In the St George Church Dunster baptism registers, John’s occupation was recorded as a labourer in 1851 and 1853.
The 1851 census shows John, Jane and their son, Robert, living at March Street, Dunster. However, by the 1861 census, the family had moved to Taunton where John was working as a bricklayer. John and Jane Dollin had at least six children then Jane died in 1869. In 1874 John Dollin married Harriett Gill who bore him two more daughters. In the 1881 and 1891 census records, John was also listed as the Publican or Innkeeper of the Foresters Arms, 93 East Reach, Taunton. In the 1901 census, Harriett Dollin was a 56 year old widow living with her daughter, Lilly Dollin. According to the UK Death Records, a Harriet Dollin died in Taunton in 1902 aged 57. A John Dollin died in Taunton in 1898 aged 69. These records are the closest match we have found for the deaths of John and Harriett Dollin. Married Hannah Maria Lankey/Sankey in 1895. Listed in the 1881 census as an unmarried Lance Corporal living at Horfield Barracks, Gloucestershire. In the 1901 census, Colour Sergeant John Dollin is listed living with his wife, Hannah, and son, Harold, aged 2, at Horfield Barracks.
