Family of Thomas Dollin: Second Generation in Australia

Dugald James Mackellar (Jim) was born on 10 Jan 1864 in 'Eumarella West', Macarthur, Victoria. In various records his name is also spelt 'Dougald' and 'McKellar'. He was the son of Neil Mackellar (b c. 1833 in Scotland; d 1892 in Summer Hill, NSW) and Elizabeth McNicoll Davidson (b 1841 in Scotland; d 1923 in Walgett, NSW).

In his work as a surveyor, Jim was part of the crew that placed cement mile markers, inscribed with Roman numerals, along the road from Sydney to the Blue Mountains.

Jim Mackellar died on 25 June 1959 at Rhodes, NSW, and was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium. On his death certificate it states that Jim was an accountant.

Mary Ann Mackellar (nee Dollin) was a midwife. She died in Ryde, NSW, aged 84 and was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium.
